BlogTourKBIS: New Designs, Tile Discoveries and Private Tours

We’re back from KBIS 2016 and the extraordinary BlogTourKBIS experience that included 25 incredible bloggers from around the world. A thousand thank you’s for including Tileometry on this wonderful experience and opportunity doesn’t seem sufficient for all that Veronika Miller and Flo Von Pelet of Modenus (#BlogTourKBIS organizers) were able to do. We may have been strangers when we met, but we departed as sisters and friends in the end. How many times in your life have you been able to say that?

#BlogTourKBIS

The utmost gratitude goes out to the sponsors of #BlogTourKBIS! Without them, none of us would have seen or experienced KBIS the way we had. With one-on-one time, up-close and personal tours, endless patience and sharing of knowledge, these sponsors have been and will continue to be valuable resources for the kitchen and bath industry. Thank you KBISThermador, TOTO, BLANCO, Top Knobs, Wood-Mode, Mr Steam and Wilsonart! You know you’re in for something exciting when a surprise box is delivered to your door BEFORE you leave! Many thanks to Thermador, which celebrates its 100th anniversary, for setting the mood!

In the coming days and weeks, we’ll be posting our discoveries from #BlogTourKBIS. Enjoy the first installation of the series below!

The Cosmopolitan and the Wynn Resort

With our home base at the Cosmopolitan, it was only natural for the meet-and-greet of fellow bloggers to take place here. First of all, not only is this a well-designed hotel, but the tile and stone installations are definitely something you want to see.

Now that we were refreshed, the group was prepared for a busy first day, starting with an exclusive private tour of the Wynn Resort led by designer Jackie Von Tobel. Let me make it clear that this was no ordinary tour. We were privy to exclusive areas, such as suites and penthouses where only high rollers were invited to stay (you can’t reserve them otherwise), the inner workings and design/decor of the Wynn’s La Reve show, XS Nightclub, Wedding Salon, and Wing Lei (the first Chinese restaurant in the country to be awarded a Michelin Star)!

The mosaic tile art throughout the Wynn is incredible. If nothing else, go to see these skillfully installed tile murals and floor embellishments throughout the property.
