Florida Tile has created a new tile category by unveiling “Thinner,” a large, never-seen-before format, a thin, true-porcelain tile as little as 3mm-thick, yet with multiple benefits for new construction and makeovers.

Included within the Thinner series are:

Time/2.0, featuring an extensive color palette of 6 colors, Snow, Black, Beige, Carbon, Cream and Silver.

RestoreHDP takes on the look of 150- to 200-year-old barn planks, yielding one of the most rustic and dramatic reclaimed looking porcelain tile floors available, complete with worn-in character.

Aventis, inspired by the gritty urban landscape, defines contemporary design. Another 6-color palette of strong grey and olive tones delivers a cool minimal look to modern spaces.

The Florida Tile manufacturing process compresses each tile to greater than 15,000 tons psi, resulting in a very dense, strong, thin tile with increased flexibility and breaking strength. A 0.5mm fiberglass mesh backing is adhered to each panel for additional strength, also allowing for ease of drilling, cutting and handling. This process allows us to create a single 3.5mm-thick panel with a size up to 1m x 3m (39” x 118”). Depending on the product, Thinner is available in 3.5 and 5.5mm thicknesses.

More detailed areas-of-use charts are available in the Thinner Technical Manual at www.floridatile.com/thinner. This Florida Tile product is Greenguard-certified and will contribute to USGBC-registered LEED projects. It will also contribute to the ANSI-approved NAHB Green Building Standard ICC 70.

For dealers, distributors and installers, Florida Tile has developed a straightforward process for handling and installation, including tools and directions for moving, handling cutting and leveling.
