Q. Where are you located?
A. Darsham, Suffolk, UK

Q. How long have you been designing tiles?
A. Five years

Q. Briefly tell us how you became interested in the tile design business?
A. My father started an artisan tile company around 20 years ago. I joined the firm soon after and the rest, as they say, is history.

Q. What inspires your designs and color choices?
A. Historically I’m inspired by the great Kashan lusterware tiles of the 13th century as well as traditional African color and pattern. Closer to home I recognize the work of the great William Morris and William De Morgan in defining the tile as a serious artistic medium.

Q. What is your preferred material to work with (clay, metal, stone, etc.)?
A. I work exclusively with clay at present.

Q. How do people hear about your tile/stone creations?
A. I blog frequently on Instagram. You can also see some of my work with my partners in the USA, such as the amazing cletile.

Q. What would you would like our readers to know to better understand your passion for designing tile?
A. I’m passionate about moving the perception of tiles away from being a purely decorative object to a more a serious artistic and spiritual medium.
