Coverings Installation & Design (CID) Award Deadline Approaching

Submissions for the 2018 Coverings Installation & Design (CID) Awards competition are open to architects, designers, builders, contractors, distributors, retailers, installers, and other professionals who demonstrate design and/or installation excellence in residential and commercial projects, giving special recognition to stunning stone and tile.

Submit your entries for free! Multiple entries are accepted and encouraged and there is no cost to submit. Receive the recognition your projects deserve – enter by January 15.

• Projects must have been completed within the past two years (Jan 2016 – Dec 2017)
• Projects can be located within or outside North America
• Multiple entries are accepted and encouraged. Separate forms are required for each entry.

In effort to keep judging anonymous, please leave out any mention of the designer, installer or others involved with the project in the narrative. The only place the projects should be identified are on the initial Entrant and Participant Details page.

CRITERIA

Projects submitted to the 2018 Coverings Installation & Design (CID) Awards will be judged separately on installation and design, with entry forms specific to each field of work. Projects will be judged on their levels of creativity, craftsmanship, outstanding use of materials, and achievement in the use of tile or stone within the residential and commercial project categories. Of interest are projects that demonstrate an original or unusual use of materials, incorporate an innovative technology, reflect installation excellence or successfully combine aesthetics with function in a unique and interesting way.

JUDGES

An independent panel of judges for all award categories will evaluate entries using a blind format based on Excellence in Execution, Inspiring + Original Use and Overall Purpose. Decisions are at the discretion of the jury.

PRIZE

A grand prize of $3,000 will be awarded to the most outstanding project, showcasing excellence in both design and installation. Prize winners for the below categories will receive $2,000. In addition, all winners will win a free one-night stay in Atlanta to attend the Coverings 2018 show. Additional projects may be recognized for categories including International, Artistic Use of Tile/Stone, Institutional, Community Project, etc., based on submissions received. Winners will also have their work featured on meter boards at the show.
