Social Networking for the Tile Business
Tile and social media are two things that I love. I’ve made countless friends, made priceless contacts, and formed valuable (personally and professionally) networks within these two industries. I’ve always said that the people involved in the tile industry are truly down to earth.
The world of social media is always changing, however. Sites like Tiktok rise to the limelight, and their content is shared across multiple platforms. Finding ways to market using these new upcoming media hosts can be tricky, but services like BoostMyTikTok can help you get the reach you want out of it. Plus, there’s something fantastic about learning a new skill you didn’t have before through such efforts, isn’t there?
People who are keen to learn and improve are wonderful, and social media helps everyone meet more of them these days. As an example, five years ago, thanks to Twitter, several people got together during Coverings to meet in real life. We had known each other through social media, so meeting face-to-face would be the proverbial cherry on the cake.
One of these people was Christine Whittemore, Simple Marketing Now. For Coverings 2015, set to take place in Orlando in April, she and I will be co-presenting Image is Everything! How Houzz and Pinterest Steer Clients to Your Tile/Stone Business: A Case Study and Guide for Visual Online and Social Success. We hope to see you there, and in the meantime, I’d like you to read the in-depth interview Christine conducted of me here. Thank you, and enjoy!
